DR. RISA BECKWITH, PsyD MPH

TREASURER

Dr. Risa Beckwith has a passion for leading nonprofit and mission-driven organizations in growth and transitional phases through local, state, and Federal advocacy, operational infrastructure scaling, partnership development, and educational programs. She has held Executive Director and C-level leadership positions in the human healthcare, education, and social services sectors, and has been a consultant for animal welfare and veterinary professional support nonprofits. 

Risa attends the International Animal Welfare, Ethics and Law MSc program at the University of Edinburgh with a focus on veterinary staff wellness and anthrozoology, the study of interactions between human and non-human animals, in line with her OneHealth/One Welfare philosophy. She lives in San Francisco with her husband and their dogs — Azrael, a rescue Belgian Malinois, and Gambit, an elder Borzoi.
