More Expertise. More Access.
On one table, a community cat is being spayed. On the next, a family dog is having a large mass removed.
That's becoming a familiar sight in our surgery suite.
Over the past year, we've added surgeon shifts throughout the month. Every additional shift means more surgeries, and more dogs and cats receiving the care they need.
Here's who's been lending their expertise in the operating room:
Dr. Orsi Kuti
Shelter veterinarian with years of experience in shelter medicine and high-volume surgery.
Dr. J.J. Louie
Veterinarian with extensive field medicine and surgical experience, including with RAVS and Animal Balance.
Dr. Marica Patchett
An experienced high-volume surgeon who has become a regular part of our Sunday surgery schedule.
Dr. Lara Rasmussen
Board-certified surgeon working with Animal Fix Clinic through Direct Veterinary Services, helping us care for dogs and cats with more complex surgical needs.
Adding surgeon shifts brings us another step closer to a long-term goal: one more surgery day each week.
Next month, we'll introduce you to the veterinary technicians and assistants who keep the day moving.
