Animal Fix Clinic’s Summer Immersion Program

Building leaders in Animal Welfare and Veterinary Care

The Summer Immersion Program is a new initiative Animal Fix Clinic is launching to provide high schools students a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in veterinary medicine and non-profit operations. This 10-week volunteer program is design to inspire and equip the next generation of compassionate professionals while supporting the vital work of our clinic.


Program Overview

This program is tailored for high school juniors and seniors (sophomores may apply) who are eager to explore carers in veterinary medicine and animal welfare. Over the course of 10 weeks, participants will gain exposure to our daily operations and learn about the clinical and administrative aspects of animal welfare.

While participants will not provide direct medical care due to the sensitive nature of recovery and post-anesthesia, they will play an essential role in supporting the clinic’s day-to-day functions including:

  • Sterilizing surgical instruments

  • Patient intake

  • Environment maintenance

Eligibility

Participants are required to commit 10 hours per week (approximately 100 hours total) and complete weekly reflections.

  • Must be a high school student

  • Interested in veterinary medicine, animal welfare, or nonprofit

  • Ability to follow safety protocols and work collaboratively


Program Timeline

March 2nd, 2026- Application Opens

May 1st, 2026 - Application Closes

May 8th, 2026 - Applicants will be notified of their status

June 4th, 2026 - Orientation; First Day
