The Kittens You Don’t See
We did not get a winter slowdown this year. Pregnant cats started showing up in January. March is already full and our waitlist is active. We have already fixed 702 community cats this year.
Kitten season does not start with kittens. It starts with adult cats. A single surgery now, prevents multiple patients later. Colonies either grow, or they stabilize.
Soon shelters and rescues will be looking for foster homes and bottle feeders. They will be searching for spay and neuter appointments that are already hard to come by.
There is no photo of the kittens who were never born, and that is the point.
One surgery on an adult cat means that future litter never exists. We have asked before: Who pays for the cats with no names?
The real cost of TNR is $180 per cat. Most trappers and neighbors cannot cover that on their own. When they bring in a cat, donor support is what lets us say yes.
The Phyllip Fund closes that gap so TNR stays accessible and adult cats can be fixed in time.
Animal Advocacy Day
March 3rd, 2026, our Board Member, Krista Wirth, traveled to Sacramento to participate in Animal Advocacy Day. This important event brings together animal welfare advocates from across the state to meet with lawmakers, increase access to care, and support animal welfare.
Representing Animal Fix Clinic, our Board Member met with four (4) California State Legislative offices and helped raise awareness about the critical need for accessible, affordable veterinary care and the lifesaving work we do everyday.
Introducing our Summer Immersion Program
Animal Fix Clinic is excited to announce the launch of our Summer Immersion Program - a 10 week structured volunteer program designed to engage and educate the next generation of animal advocates and veterinarians.
Participants will gain hands-on experience in veterinary care, TNR efforts, and non-profit operations, all while making meaningful impact in our community. Applications are open now! To learn more, click here.
Add One Day Campaign
In November, we launched a campaign to expand surgical capacity so more animals get treated sooner. Adding one more day means 80-90+ beloved animals get treated each month!
To support this growth, we’re also raising funds for:
A Handheld Ultrasound
A Pulse Oximeter
An EMMA Capnograph
Other key equipment
These equipment will support safe anesthesia and surgical care. Together, your gift helps us add more surgery days and keep every pet safe under our care.
As always, thank you for your support.
