$10,000 Received #ThanksToMaddie

We’re excited to announce that Animal Fix Clinic has received a BIPOC-Led Operating Support Grant from Maddie's Fund®!

Maddie's Fund® is a national family foundation that offers the animal welfare industry a national voice, important funding opportunities, learning resources and easy access to network connect and share ideas to keep people and pets together.

This year they introduced a new grant opportunity to support the operations of Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC)-led animal welfare organizations like ours. In addition to our Medical Director Dr. Jean Goh, most of our staff are People of Color, a reflection of the community we serve. The Bay Area is gentrifying and the cost of living, renting commercial property and operating a business continues to rise, while the legacy of redlining and the disparity between White and BIPOC-led organizations owning property remain strong. This generous grant in the amount of $10,000 from Maddie’s Fund® will go towards the purchase and renovation of our new building. #ThanksToMaddie, we’ll be able to provide low-cost and no-cost veterinary surgical care at our new location for years to come.

If you’d like to learn more about our upcoming move you can read our FAQ. If you would like to support the significant costs to purchase and renovate the new building as Maddie’s Fund® has, you can give here.
